Outdoor Adventure Club

The Outdoor Adventure Club is a social group whose members are University of Chicago students, alumni, staff, faculty, and their spouses. We provide a forum for people with a love of the great outdoors to meet others with similar interests. The committee organizes one or two trips per quarter, but the majority of our trips are organized by the members themselves. Equipment for these activities is available through the club.

If you are interested in the group then check upcoming events and sign up on our mailing list. To borrow gear or go on official OAC trips you need to be a member which costs $10 a year, starting from September. For any queries, contact the officers.

OAC History

While we are not sure exactly how old the Outdoor Adventure Club is, some of the records we have indicate the OAC goes back to at least 1979. Until 1997 the OAC was a sports club. In January 1997 the OAC became a registered student organization.
